Boxer Nishant Dev has become the first Indian male to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024. He got the ticket for the Olympics after defeating Moldova’s Vasile Cebotari by unanimous 5-0 in the quarter-finals of the men’s 71kg category at the World Boxing Qualifiers in Bangkok. He is the fourth Indian boxer to secure a seat for the Paris Olympics after Nikhat Zareen (women’s 50 kg), Preeti (54 kg) and Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain (75 kg).
