Recently, public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has launched PB-SHABD, which is a news-sharing service, aimed at providing news stories in all major Indian languages across fifty categories. This is expected to transform the news industry and support the small news organizations, that don’t own an extensive network for content sharing.
Key highlights
- PB-SHABD will provide daily news to media organizations in various formats, including audio, video, text, photographs, and others.
- The service will be offered free of cost for the first year to news organizations registered with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Prasar Bharati
- Established in 1997 under the Prasar Bharati Act, it is a statutory autonomous body.
- Its chief objective is to provide autonomy to Doordarshan and Akashvani and facilitate their efforts to educate and entertain the people.
